Andrew J. McCarthy the cancerian from York,
England was born on July 4th 1988. Growing up in York Andrew
dreamed of becoming a dancer or a pantomime dame, not the two coolest
choices of professions! Due to Andrew's continuous performing around the
house his family decided at the age of 6 it was time to send him to Red
Shoes Dance School to feed the performing bug! Whilst there he focused on
Tap, Jazz And Drama.
Early on, Andrew showed a flair
for performing, receiving numerous drama awards and performing lead roles
in school plays such as 'Grease' and 'Return To The Forbidden Planet'.
After graduating from Archbishop
Holgates School in 2004 with 4A’s, 2B’s and 5C’s at GCSE level,
Andrew decided to take a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts Acting
at York College where he graduated with a distinction grade.
In 2006 Andrew J. McCarthy’s
hard work paid off when he successfully auditioned for a number of drama
schools and accepted a place At East 15 Acting School, initially on the
foundation course and then furthering his education on the BA In Acting
where he graduated in 2010.
Over the years Andrew has
performed in over 50 productions working across the United Kingdom In
productions by such writers as William Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, Samuel
Becket and David Hare. In productions for Live
Nation, Clear Channel Entertainment,
New
Pantomime Productions Ltd and The Ambassador Group
